Kendal~5 months

Well it's official my beautiful baby girl turned 5 months old last Friday. Makes me so sad...she is going to be a year old before I know it! She is enjoying cereal every now and again, some days are better then others. She is starting to cut some teeth, so she has been a little cranky at times. She also has a nasty cold that she caught from her big brother, so we are trying to keep her comfortable. Other then that, she is good. I got some great pictures of her on Saturday...Enjoy!!!

Isn't she cute!!!!!!

I love this picture!!! She makes this face ALOT!

I don't know what she is looking at....

Big girl!!

Aidan's first visit to the pottery place.....

Well Aidan got to go and paint pottery with his cousins who are more like his honorary Aunt and Uncle this past weekend. They have been wanting to spend some time with him, so they offered to take him on Saturday morning for a few hours. I was like HECK YEAH!! I had plans that evening and wanted to get the house clean anyway, and I know Josh needed a break too.

Anyhow, "Aunt Bri and Uncle Andrew" took Aidan to the pottery place. They took all kinds of pictures and as you can see he had one heck of a time. They said it was so neat to watch him, and he got to pick out what he wanted to paint and even the colors he wanted to paint. Here are a few pics. from that day....

He is growing up too fast......

Aidan's first visit to Chuck E Cheese!!

Oh BOY!!! Josh and I decided that Aidan deserved some Mommy and Daddy time, so we took him this past Friday night to Chuck E Cheese. I was wore out before we even got our coats off!! He really enjoyed himself though, and so did Daddy and I. The food was terrible, but I guess you really don't go there to eat the food. :) Ha Ha! Aidan played very well considering the amount of children that were there. He was fascinated by this train in a big glass case. He just kept feeding his "toins" into it. He was really cute! I about had a heart-attack when we tried to play ski-ball with him, yeah he kept chucking the balls over in the other persons lane...(luckily it was daddy's) and they would bounce all over the place and usually end up on the floor. I got to laughing so hard I was crying at one point. Good thing they didn't kick us out! I tried to get some pictures, but they didn't turn out very well. Here are a few of him riding in the toy cars. Enjoy!!

A little reunion...

An old high school friend and I got to talking about how awesome it would be to try to get our old "click" together. We tracked everyone down and managed to set a date to get together last night. We had a ball!!! Some of us hadn't seen each other in like more then 5 years. We had dinner at O'Charleys, and then everyone came back to my place to meet Josh and the kids. It was so amazing to spend time with these wonderful ladies. We just picked up right where we left off. It's so funny how that happens. :) We only managed to get 5 out of 8 of us together, but it was still an awesome time! Here is a picture of us back here at my place after we had dinner. Enjoy!!!!

From the back left...Leah, Stacy, Kim, Havilah, and Me. (Miss Kendal too)
You ladies are AMAZING!!! LOVE YOU :)

The Calming Effect :-)

Well things have calmed down a bit around here. Kendal has been on her new formula for over a week now and is doing WONDERFUL!! Josh and I can't believe the change in her, she is truly not the same baby, and we are so thankful. She is full of smiles and coos and is just enjoying life these days. She hasn't really had any new milestones, but that is okay. She will do things in her own time. Right now I think Josh and I will settle for a happy baby, everything else will come when she is ready. :) I will say this though, this girl must have been starving for 4 months because she is a little piggy these days. She is eating as much as 5-6 oz at a time. Before it was only like 2-3 oz, so this has been a HUGE difference. Josh and I are thinking she is going to eat us out of house and home. :-)
Big brother Aidan is feeling better these days too, he is definitely back to his old self. He is so LOUD these days. I'm warning anyone that comes over to bring a set of ear plugs. Ha ha...he is just a ball of energy. Nothing calms him down.

We had company this past week, my Grandma Nancy from Arkansas has been visiting. I wish under better circumstances, her brother is very ill and in the hospital. He is not expected to make it much longer. Still it has been wonderful spending time with her, and having her around the kids. She and Grandma Julie came over on Valentines Day, and we baked and decorated sugar cookies. I think Aidan had more fun eating then decorating. It was fun though. He loves to help mommy bake. He has very little patients at times, but we are continuing to work on that, so we'll see. In the mean time here are a few photo's of our baking experience. Plus a few extra of Kendal in her little Valentines outfit. Enjoy!!!

CRAZINESS!!!!

Well this is the first opportunity that I've had to post this week. Our life has been a little stressful this week. Miss Kendal decided that she wanted to stop eating last weekend, so I called the doctor and they told me to keep a diary over the weekend and they would check back with us on Monday morning. Well she was a little stinker all weekend, and did not eat like she was supposed to, all she wanted to do was sleep. She is supposed to take about 25 oz a day, and she was barely taking 18 most days. I honestly didn't really think to much of it, I just thought maybe she was going through a growth spurt or something. Plus we had put her on that new formula, and she was still fussy, but not like she was before. She was still having her little fits at times too. I just thought she was wore out. Well, when the doctor called on Monday morning she wanted to see her right away to check her weight. She went from 10lbs 11oz to 10lbs 14 oz. The doctor was completely stumped as to why she wasn't eating. She did say that she could feel her liver and her spleen, so she wanted to run a blood test to make sure something wasn't off. I was like OH BOY!! It was awful watching them pin her down and take blood from her arm, so sad :(

Her results showed that her liver enzymes were elevated and that there was something in her blood that indicated a possible food allergy. The doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure there wasn't a mass or something that was disturbing the liver. Josh and I were beside ourselves, we didn't know what to think. The doctor went ahead and put her on another new formula. This one is Similac Alimentum. It has no milk protein at all, and it smells horrible. I don't know how she is even drinking it. :) It is pretty much made up of meat proteins, and let me tell you.....this stuff is not cheap!!! I had to run to the store to pick up a few things and I checked out the price....WOW!! It is $27 for a 12oz can!! Luckily the doctor gave us enough samples to last about a week , so we haven't had to buy any yet. Thankfully!!!

We didn't end up getting her ultrasound results until yesterday, and we kind of killed two birds with one stone. I ended up having to take Aidan to the doctor because he was coughing so hard that the poor kid was vomiting. So he ended up with a Sinus infection, but at least we got that taken care of and the doctor could go over Kendal's results. They said everything looked fine as far as the liver was concerned, so that was a relief. Tuned out to just be a protein allergy to milk. Which explained a lot, her moods, why she was always crying and kicking her feet out. She was in pain....poor kid. :( So now we are going to have to keep her on this crazy expensive formula, but if it makes her comfortable then Josh and I will do everything we can to make that happen. So that's been our week in a nut shell, I'm exhausted!!!!

On the upside she is loving her Jumperoo now, she can make it bounce on her own and everything. Sooo cute! Here is a video of that..Enjoy!
